No, this is not a new artwork at all. This waterclor painting was done and then uploaded at "Jurassic Park Legacy" website [link]
sometime in 2007. This piece is part of the work I did for JPL mainly illustrating different site's projects as the novel section of the JPL's encyclopedia, JPL's web comics ("Jurassic Park: Revelations"), and message boards' "JP dinosaurs field guide". All of these artworks were made for free and it couldn't be otherwise seeing they use material from the JP franchise over which I have no rights. With other words my work is 100% fanart in the case with this artwork based on Crichton's "The Lost World" novel. But the fact that this artwork is fan art made for a fan site doesn't mean I'm fine with people copying or use it in any form without giving credit to me or atleast to JPL (since this is the place where the image is hosted, aside from my photobucket account and now here at DA). I don't want to sound like Greg Paul but I want the credit. If you want to use any of my artworks for reference then fine but give a proper credit. Unless you're wanting to edit my artworks or ripping them off you don't need to ask for my permission (though I appreciate it greatly), just give a credit or put a link to the original artwork. I feel like an ass for crying over that old and not very good illustration but in the end it's my work and I don't want to see people ignoring this fact. Today I just saw another half a dozen of drawings which are directly based on my work and none of them had cited a source or gave credit in any form. That's why I'm uploading this illustration here though I have avoided uploading of my old works at DA, because I want people to know that I'm the artist who drew this watercolor painting. To put it short: this is my original artwork and all artworks you see here at DA or anywhere on the net which remind this one are either copies, rip offs, altered versions or derived versions of this work.
Here are a couple of links to JPL where this artwork is uploaded along with link to the same site where I'm cited as one of the artists working for the site:[link][link][link]
And if all this is not enough here is a link to the original sketch of this artwork: [link]
P.S. This is not what real Velociraptor looked like!
