This's the Big one. Female Velociraptor "antirrhopus" nublarensis. For those who don't know- Velociraptors in JP are not like the real Velociraptors. They are just science fiction.

If all the JP dinos are girls, than the Big One is a total BITCH!

The "velociraptors" in JP Are actually Larger Species of the raptor family such as utahraptors or north-african raptors

They are not Utahraptors or north-african raptors (I doubt there any fossils from african raptors besides ichnofossils). JP raptors are based entirely on Deinonychus antirrhopus. Back in the late 80's when Michael Crichton was about to write his novel, the paleontologist Gregory S. Paul thought that Deinonychus is actually part of the genus Velociraptor and used the name Velociraptor antirrhopus for the north-american dromaeosaurid Deinonychus antirrhopus. Crichton's JP novel was heavily based on the theories and ideas of Greg Paul that's why Velociraptor actually has the size of Deinonychus. Later Spielberg followed Crichton's original depiction of the raptors in his movie. So there you go... that's the story behind the JP raptors.

Either that, or they classified the raptors wrong. They look more like Utahraptors then anything else.
Very nice detail btw!

How you know what Utahraptor looks like? There's no articulated skeleton found, only fragments. ;)
Anyway, I see your point but in the end this is a dinosaur from a science-fiction movie. Even though it's terribly inaccurate it's still a Velociraptor. That's it. To be honest the JP raptors have nothing incommon with any of the dromaeosaurids we know about (except for the Deinonychus I guess).

Thank you for the comment! :)
