Kentrosaurus aethiopicus by T-PEKC Kentrosaurus aethiopicus by T-PEKC
Reconstruction of the African stegosaur Kentrosaurus aethiopicus. Here the animal is depicted while running.... or dancing.... or doing some weird movements. I was really tempted to draw it running on two legs, but in the end I decided to left this concept for another stegosaur reconstruction.

Reference: Gregory Paul's skeletal drawing of Kentrosaurus aethiopicus from his Filed Guide.

Medium: Pencils (2B and 5B) on yellow paper
Done: 2013

I'm not a fan of details such spikes in the dewlap, specially such long ones, but I love the way you make the scales and the coloration so much (even the floor) that you deserve my fav anyways :3

Well, the dewlap is artistic licence, so there are going to be people who may don't like it. That's normal, and I'm fine with it.

Thanks for the compliments. :)

I love the amount of detail brought to the skin texture and it's quite unusual to see stegosaurs on two legs. It makes a weird but enchanting an yet believable picture. Really great piece to your collection. Stegosaurids rock ! :D

They rock indeed! :D Thank you for the indepth comment. :)

This is yet not truly depiction of stegosaur on two legs (not counting tripod stance). There will be a real one soon (hopefully).

You're welcome. :)

I realised you prepare a truer "two legs" piece after I posted
my comment. I'm looking forward to it.

I just want to salute your improvement on the scales. I really feel the texture of your dinosaurs' skin. ;)

Um... this doesn't sound well at all. You really think I can't draw something better ever? I surely hope that I have room to improve further and will be able to do better than that. Because in this drawing there are a lot of things that could have been done better.
